Q: Our guests have no experience of ceilidh dancing...
A: Not a problem. Our caller will take you through each dance step by step. If you are completely new to ceili dancing we can hire two or more professional dancers to demonstrate all the moves as they are called. However, we are quite happy to cater for experienced dancers too.

Q: Is Ultimate Ceili suitable for all venues?
A: Almost. We require a stage/performance area, together with sufficient space for all your guests to dance, PA system and lights. We are not totally inflexible, however, so do get in touch if you are planning to use an unusual venue and we'll see what we can do - see next question.

Q: Are you cheap?
A: No. All Ultimate Ceili performers are full-time professional musicians, which obviously makes us more expensive than most (amateur) ceilidh bands. UC is professionally managed - when you sign a contract with us, we are irrevocably committed. (Many ceilidh bands will take a booking verbally and let you down at a week's notice in order to play at a folk festival.) So: cheap? No. Good value? Definitely.

Q: Is Ultimate Ceili available in larger/smaller configurations?
A: Yes. Some of the possibilities are listed on our options page. We are always happy to expand the line-up; UC Mini is available for smaller venues/budgets. If you are looking for a cheap 2-3 piece band you're in the wrong place, but we'll happily point you in the right direction.

Q: 'Ceili' or 'Ceilidh'? Why do you use both spellings?
A: Both spellings are in common use ('ceilidh' is more common in England and Scotland; 'céilidh' and 'cèilidh' are traditional gaelic spellings; 'ceili' is the reformed Irish spelling). The two main spellings are used interchangeably on this site so that search engines will find us, regardless of the spelling entered. We wouldn't want anyone to miss us just because they'd used a different spelling.

Q: Do you have public liability insurance?
A: Yes, we are covered for claims of up to £2 million.

Q: Are you available to travel outside the UK?
A: Absolutely.
